African and African-American Astronomy Academy

This academy will take place on each of the four saturdays in February 2009. The topic is Cultural Astronomy of Africa and the African Diaspora.

Weekly topics may include (these are subject to change):

  • Who are the African and African American Astronomers?
  • Astronomy from the African Continent
  • Hands On Workshops — on e.g. How Dark Is the Sky, Optics and Galileo’s Telescope, interviewing an African American astronomer,
  • And More.
